Amman, Jordan: As part of its efforts to overcome the challenges of food poverty towards a hunger-free Jordan, Bank ABC in Jordan continued to support Tkiyet Um Ali by supporting the food parcels programme, offering food aid to the poorest and most vulnerable families living below the poverty line in Jordan. The programme includes donating 55 food parcels to ensure decent living for families in need and to combat poverty and hunger by delivering food parcels to these families across the Kingdom.

The General Manager of Bank ABC in Jordan, Mr. George Farah Sofia, commended the efforts of these organizations and their staff, emphasizing that combating poverty and hunger is a top priority for the bank. He highlighted that ensuring a decent living requires immediate attention and extensive efforts to address this humanitarian challenge.

In this regard, the Director General of Tkiyet Um Ali, Mr. Samer Balkar, expressed his gratitude to Bank ABC for its continuous support of underprivileged families throughout the Kingdom, and its efforts to provide these families with decent livelihoods. He also commended the effective role of the partners of Tkiet Um Ali in supporting social programmes aimed at addressing and eliminating hunger. 

As part of the Bank’s effective role in supporting voluntary and charitable work throughout the Kingdom, a number of Bank employees participated in packing and preparing food parcels. These parcels were distributed to needy and underprivileged families across the Kingdom in collaboration with Tkiyet Um Ali.

It is worth noting that Tkiyet Um Ali currently provides healthy and sustainable food support to 20,000 needy families living below the food poverty line in all governorates of Jordan, by delivering monthly food parcels to such families all year long. Each food parcel contains 22 food items that meet the monthly nutritional needs of families.
